Michael joined QIC in January 2011 and has overall responsibility for QIC Infrastructure’s legal function which includes leading and managing the legal requirements of the team in respect of new investments, asset management initiatives and fundraising activities.  

Since joining QIC, Michael has played a key role in complex asset management initiatives and the acquisition of QIC’s interest in Tilt Renewables, CenTrio, Brussels Airport, Port of Melbourne, Hobart Airport, Generate Capital, Lochard Energy, Queensland Motorways, Epic Energy South Australia, CampusParc (OSU Parking), Long Beach Court House and a Canadian Medical Research Facility.  

Michael has over 20 years of experience as a corporate/ commercial lawyer in New York and Brisbane.  

Before joining QIC, Michael was at King & Wood Mallesons where he gained extensive experience on a range of commercial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, consortium arrangements, equity fundraisings and general corporate advisory work. Prior to this, Michael was at Milbank LLP in New York in the Corporate/M&A and Finance groups where he gained extensive experience on a range of securities, debt finance and M&A transactions.  

Michael holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours) and a Bachelor of Business from Queensland University of Technology. Michael is admitted to practise as a lawyer in Queensland and New York.
