Steven joined QIC in 1991 and was instrumental in the acquisition and development of the current portfolio of properties. He has 35 years’ experience in the wholesale funds management business through various market cycles and conditions and a strong background in retail, commercial and industrial property with a particular focus on shopping centre acquisitions and redevelopments. When he left QIC in 2009 he was the Deputy Head of Global Real Estate and had direct responsibility for all Australian real estate funds management and all QIC real estate operations.
Steven joined Trinity Limited in February 2009 and was appointed Managing Director in September 2009 and subsequently, the Chief Executive Officer of the wholesale unlisted funds management business. In July 2011 global fund manager LaSalle Investment Management purchased Trinity Funds Management to create its first Australian platform. Steven held the role of Head of Australia for LaSalle Investment Management until July 2012.
Steven re-joined QIC as Managing Director QIC Global Real Estate in August 2012. Steven is a certified practising valuer and is a graduate of the University of Queensland and the Queensland University of Technology in the disciplines of real estate valuation and project management.
Stuart oversees the global operations of GRE’s AUD18.5 billion real estate investment portfolio. It includes a development pipeline of AUD5 billion and incorporates asset and development management, leasing, property management and strategy across approximately 50 sites in Australia and the US.
During the past 20 years with GRE, Stuart has overseen award-winning projects including Eastland, Robina Town Centre and Canberra Centre, with a combined project value of more than AUD3 billion. Stuart has been fundamental to GRE’s strategic asset creation program to reimagine retail centres and commercial assets into mixed-use destinations incorporating exceptional architecture and design.
Stuart is a certified practising valuer; has a Bachelor of Business (University of Queensland); and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment from Financial Services Institute of Australia (Finsia). Stuart is an Associate Member of the API and a Fellow of Finsia.
Matthew heads GRE’s Capital team which encompasses fund management, global mandates, capital transactions, treasury and debt management and coverage of GRE’s global strategic partnerships. He leads GRE’s capital markets strategy across Australian and US markets and drives the development of new product lines. Matthew’s global team is well-equipped to prepare for emerging opportunities in an ever-changing wholesale and listed environment.
With 22 years’ experience in the retail sector and 17 years with QIC in regional shopping centre investment, development, product development and funds management, Matthew has overseen AUD18 billion in U.S. and international transactions. Matthew has been responsible for the establishment of QIC’s real estate platform in the U.S., focusing on identifying new transaction opportunities.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of IT (Statistics and Applied Mathematics) from Bond University through a Vice Chancellor’s scholarship.
